We are in another interview for Cronica Metal from Mexico. I'm Xandri Silver and in this time we are with a Finnish guitar player, who was a member of Stratovarius. Kown for his great work and trajectory. Is a pleasure and honor to be with Timo Tolkki.
Timo, thank you for giving us this interview for Cronica Metal from Mexico
1.- 36 years of experience as a musician. Do the experiences look like what you dreamed when you started?
Owards the end. I didnt exactly had a plan when I started, no solid masterplan, and I got some great highs and some lows, but it’s all in life...
2.- One of the most well-known parts of your career is when you were part of Stratovarius. What can you tell us about that experience?
Probably my biggest achievements there, some tremendous songs. A lot of nie memories, some not so good ones toward the end.
3.- For some time you were a singer and guitarist in Stratovarius. Which of these roles do you feel the best? Or do you like both?
Liked both. But guitar was easier to do, doing both is more difficult...
4.- You took a break from the musical world after projects that arrived after your stay in Stratovarius. How was Timo's life in that period?
Tumulous, turbulant. Ups and downs.
5.- What made you return to the musical world?
Just, the need of a musician to produce music… I have to do this…
6.- Why a new project and do not resume eg Symfonia?
The thing was dead, so I thought I needed a fresh start… same with RR and Strato. If the interest is not there...
7.- Timo Tolkki's Avalon, why that name?, Do you have any attachment to Celtic mythology and its "island of apples"?
I am a fan of the cetic mythology and avalon is a peaceful realm, so it was a more refiined musical statement, and I thought it sounded good.
8.- Based on what you chose your collaborators for the two albums that Timo Tolkki's Avalon has?
Their status and ability, which earned them their status. They are all fine singers and they did sing well on my songs.
9.- Of these two albums, which one do you like better and why?
First one, but I hope I should be able to make the third match it as well.
10.- The following week you have 4 presentations in Spain. What do you expect from your audience and what can people expect from your show?
Not have had a ton of people, but all were good and it makes me feel more positive, more interested in doing this long term. I don’t want another false start, I ‘d like a band I can rely on and I feel like I am in a band of friends a band of brothers… the guys like me and I like them too and you ll get that on the stage.
It’s one of the better experiences I had on a stage in recent years… all those songs, presented well, really
in a very edgy, metallic but also melodic way … they have gotten a new lease of life in my opinion a different interesting slant, because of a different but powerful singer. Not to discredit the other timo of course, who did a fabulous job singing them back in the day.
I would love to see the fans enjoying themselves. We ‘ve enjoyed the shows so far. They might
11.- Will Mexico be able to enjoy your show in the near future?
Maybe. We got interest and we ‘re interested to do it too, but we need to find out when to do it, when the other guys are able to and then we ‘d absolutely love to come to mexico.
12.- Something you want to tell your followers and who will attend these shows in Spain?
Come to the shows and lets rock together, you ‘re some of the most passionate fans I ve known since I live in spain for a few years… so let’s rock there together. Love one another… love is the key to the universe, you know ….

ocasión estamos con un guitarra finlandés, quién fuera miembro de Stratovarius, conocido por su gran
trabajo y trayectoria es un gusto y honor estar con Timo Tolkki.
Timmo, muchas gracias por darnos esta entrevista para Crónica Metal desde México.
1.- 36 años de experiencia como música. ¿Estas experiencias son como soñaste al principio?
No tenia un plan exactamente cuando inicie, bueno un plan sólido no, y tuve algunas altibajos, pero asi es todo en la vida.
2.-Una de las partes mas conocidas de tu carrera, es cuando formaste parte de Stratovarius. ¿Que nos puedes decir acerca de esta experiencia?
Probablemente mi mayor logro aquí, algunas canciones tremendas. Muchas memorias, algunas no tan buenas rumbo al final.
3.- Por cierto tiempo fuiste cantante y guitarrista de Stratovarius, ¿con cuál de estos dos roles te sientes mejor? ¿o ambos te gustan?
Me gustaron ambas, pero ser guitarrista fue mas sencillo. Hacer ambas es mayor dificultad.
4.- Tomaste un descanso en el mundo de la música, tras proyectos que vinieron después de Stratovarius. ¿Cómo se sintió Timo en ese periodo de la vida?
Tumultuoso, turbulento. Altas y bajas.
5.- ¿Qué te hizo regresar al mundo de la música?
Simplemente la necesidad de un músico por producir música... Es lo que he hecho.
6.- ¿Por qué un nuevo proyecto y no retomar algo como Symfonia?
Eso estaba muerto, así que pensé que necesitaba un fresco inicio... Parecido como con RR y Strato.
7.- Timo Tolkki's Avalon, ¿por qué ese nombre? ¿Tienes algún apego hacia la mitología Celta y su "Isla de las Manzanas"?
Soy un fan de la mitología Celta y Avalon es un reino pacífico, así que fue una definición musical redefinida, y pensé que sonaba bien
8.- ¿Basado en qué escogiste a los colaboradores de los dos discos que tiene Timo Tolkki's Avalon?
Su estatus y habilidad, que valía mucho su estatus. Todos son buenos cantantes y cantaban estupendo en mis canciones.
9.- De los dos discos, ¿cuál te gusta más y por qué?
El primero, pero espero y debo estar listo para hacer que el tercero sea mejor.
10.- En esta semana tienes 4 presentaciones en España. ¿Qué esperas de tu público y qué puede esperar la gente de tu show?
No he tenido un montón de gente, pero todos son geniales y me hacen sentir más positivo, más interesado en hacer esto a largo plazo. No quiero otra falsa salida, me gustaría una banda en la que pueda confiar y me siento como si estuviera en una banda de amigos, un grupo de hermanos... Les agrado a los chicos y ellos a mi y eso lo consigues en el escenario.
Es una de las mejores experiencias que he tenido en el escenario en años recientes... tosas esas canciones, bien presentadas, realmente de una manera muy nerviosa, melódica y metalica... han conseguido un nuevo camino de vida. En mi opinión, un comienzo diferente. Debido a un cantante diferente pero poderoso. No para desacreditar al otro Timo claro, pues hizo un trabajo cantando.
11.- ¿México podrá disfrutar de tu show en un futuro cercano?
Quizá. Tenemos interés y estamos interesados en hacerlo, pero hay que encontrar cuándo, cuándo los chicos estén disponibles y entonces nos encantaría estar en México.
12.- ¿Algo más que quieras decir a tus seguidores y a quienes irán a los shows en España?
Vengan a los shows y hagamos rock juntos, son uno de los públicos más apasionados que he conocido desde que viví en España hace algunos años... Así que hagamos rock juntos. Amense unos a otros... el amor es la llave del universo, ya lo saben...
